Originally by: Shoraigh Edited by: Shoraigh on 26/08/2010 15:34:33 Relatively new guy here (3 weeks), need to get from Hi-Sec to Hi-Sec. However, the route to my destination, consisting of 27 jumps, also contains 5 0.0 systems. This also seems to be the only route available, using any of the options available ("stick to 0.5 and above", "avoid Pod-killing systems" and so on) only result in "Destination unavailable".
So, my first (naive) attempt was to fit some Warp Core Stabilizers and run the gauntlet. Well, that worked fine for some guys at a 0.5->0.1 transition. But 1 system into 0.0 I found myself in a warp bubble after having warped into the system and at the wrong end of some heavy cannons.
So, since there seems to be no direct counter to a warp bubble, how do I get through this?
(aside from trying to run the route directly after server downtime)
Use the map filters. If you must go through null sec, fit your ship appropriately and take your time. Use a mwd and cloak for moving bigger ships, watch this video here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQpAhhO6L7Y
make an alt character, use noob ship, and move one jump ahead of the main character you are trying to get to said destination. (scout alt)
Every situation is different and you need to take your time when you jump in dangerous systems. watch this video about gate mechanics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsDlpYwUCn4&feature=related
it will give you a general idea of how the gates work. you have a minute to make up your mind and make action after you jump and hold your cloak. Essentially you need to choose to either burn to the gate, and jump back into said system, or, if you are off center of the bubble you may be able to sneak out of the bubble in time. find the shortest route out of the bubble, and "burn ab or mwd" in that direction, also it helps if there is something to align to so you can warp away asap once clear of the bubble's edge.
when I move in null sec, I never warp to 0 unless its a safe, or the gate I intend to jump on contact with. use the planets and customs offices, belts and stations to warp to 100km off of, and make a safe for each system. video on safes, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmrQQY0sQ6g&feature=related
When I jump into a 0.0 system I: 1. look at overview, (which is already set to show all ships) 2. Scan with my directional scanner 3. check local (looking for flashy red's and known threats,) 4. make note of the destination, not the gate to the next system, then (Warp to 100km of said plant, near or in the direction of the destination gate)
"I NEVER WARP TO A GATE FROM A GATE/STATION/ANY CELESTIAL, IF LOCAL IS KNOWN AS HOSTILE!"
5. scan gate for threats. 6. if gate is occupied by people, use different gate, warp to safe, and use map, a cloak is a good idea here), if not occupied by threats, warp to 0 and jump on contact. (try warping to gates from safes NEAR the gate, if the gate is occupied) use directional scanner every 10-20 seconds mate ... :)
easy. 0.0 is overrated
